Using the amazing power of your mind to create the life you truly want!

Money and the Law of Attraction

Have you read the latest book from Esther and Jerry Hicks – Money and the Law of Attraction?

It’s an excellent read! It includes some previous material on the subject as well as new material. The writing style is very clear with plenty of excellent examples.

Tell a different story to change your experience

I particularly like the concept of “tell a different story” – “tell a new story” – of how you want things, your life, your finances, etc to be.

“Tell” as in “tell yourself” – rather than “telling others” – who may not have the same faith in things changing as you are wanting to develop.

Rather than worry about things – make a deliberate attempt to look forward to positive outcomes. Start imagining or visualising a positive outcome.

Sadly many – through habit or through behavior modeled from others – jump to anticipating the worst scenario when things aren’t going so well. It takes real intent to change what most people do on auto-pilot (they automatically imagine the worst).

But it doesn’t have to get worse. It can just as easily get better! The choice is yours.

Your finances – or health – or relationship – your business – can get better or it can get worse.

Which thought is “true”? “My health is getting worse”? Or “My health is improving”? Either can be true. It all depends on which one you decide to focus on! That’s the essence of creating your own reality – learning to focus your thoughts – learning to focus your thinking in the direction that feels better to you.

So ask yourself, “Which thought feels better?” Then that’s the one to focus on!

Learning to manage the mind is the true secret

Ultimately the true secret to creating the life you want, is about learning to manage your thinking. If you accept that thoughts are magnetic – that they attract in kind – and that you are the only one who has control of your thinking, then you have taken a quantum step towards living the life of your own design and dreams.

Does your thinking serve you or hinder you?

“Does what I am thinking about this issue, serve me or hinder me?” By asking yourself that simple question, you can abort a tendency to negative imagining or speculation – and consequently negative attraction.

With practice you can learn to quickly reframe unwanted thinking – flip it around to serve you. You can learn to hold only those thoughts (and feelings) that serve you. And in so doing, you will shift your point of attraction in the direction you want it to be.

You alone have control of your own thinking, your life and your destiny. Surely this is the greatest secret and gift!

The power of your subconscious mind

Many years ago, author Joseph Murphy, coined the now hugely popular phrase, “the power of your subconscious mind’ in the title of a book.

He talked about secrets and powers of the mind that for most people might still seem to be a fantasia.

However, many years on, and with the very popular self help movie, The Secret - inspired by the work of Esther & Jerry Hicks and their in-depth materials on the Law of Attraction - many concepts Joseph Murphy made accessible, have now entered popular jargon.

Once a topic has been on the Oprah Show – The Secret appeared on Oprah twice in 2007 – when you can be rest assured it has entered mainstream discussion (and criticism).

The term ‘subconscious mind’ is referred to by other terms like the unconscious mind, universal mind, Source Energy, as well as traditional terms like God or Spirit (which have the disadvantage of carrying a lot of ‘baggage’ associated with religion and religious zealots).

However, the now popular term, the Law of Attraction, is the most recent way of referring to the ‘subconscious mind’ and its immense creative power.

What is so important about the subconscious mind or the Law of Attraction?

A study of this topic reveals that instead of power to control your life and destiny residing outside of you (for example some benign being designing our destiny) – the power is within you and has always been within you.

It’s just that somewhere along the way (from early childhood to adulthood) you/we forgot that we are innately powerful, wondrous beings capable of great things. That’s where religion has gotten some bad press with its teachings along the lines that everyone is born an unworthy sinner.  Sheesh – how did we fall for that line of thought? (I digress).

The subconscious mind responds to your imagination, belief, self image and expectation

It uses these ingredients to fulfill your desires small and large – whether  consciously stated or unconsciously desired.  Whatever you imagine with belief (faith) and expectation comes about in your experience.

However many think that this is ‘serious work’.  And then wonder why they aren’t getting the results promised.  However, a vital key here is to be light and relaxed about the outcome you seek.  To want it, but not to want it desperately! Desperation actually is a cover for lack of belief or expectation. And the subconscious mind is literal and neutral.  It simply responds to certain indicators like imagination, belief and so forth.

When you genuinely expect something to come or happen it’s as easy and relaxed as ordering a meal at your favorite cafe and knowing and expecting the order to arrive in a timely manner.

An understanding and application of the fundamental principles involved in this topic has the potential to totally transform your life and experience in a way that’s great fun as well as a joy.
